Our Story

  • TRANS was started in 1970 in Gaborone. From humble beginnings, TRANS has grown into a leading wholesaler and distributor for FMCG products in Botswana.
  • TRANS is a founding member of the voluntary buying group ‘UMS’, which is based in South Africa.
  • TRANS stores are stocked with approximately 15,000 line items for the convenience of resellers and consumers.
  • Today TRANS has a presence in 14 locations and 21 outlets, employing in excess of 1,000 citizens. TRANS is a household name in Botswana.
